PRICING

RATES

My prices are based upon an hourly rate of:

  • $50.00/hour for general Gunsmithing, (minimum 1/4 hour
  • $75.00/hour for machine shop services (e.g. milling and/or lathe work making parts, cutting dovetails, etc.), minimum 1/2 hour
  • $75.00/hr for gunsmith related welding services, minimum 1/2 hour
  • $125.00/hour for outside machine shop services (for jobs my mill and/or lathe can’t handle), minimum 1 hour

I use an industry standard pricing manual to base my time and costs upon.  My minimum charge is based upon 30 minutes of work at the appropriate rate above.  Bring  proof you are current or prior military, 1st responder, or LEO and you get 5% off labor.  Prices below do not include parts or tax.  Please note that some guns are more difficult to work with and costs may be higher.  I’m happy to give you an approximate price for any work prior to starting as an estimate.  For repairs, upgrades, modifications, or finishing, estimates are $15.00 (applied toward the work).  Work over $100.00 may require a deposit.  No checks please.  My listed prices are cash or Navy Federal Credit Union direct transfer and  reflect a 5% discount for using either of these two means of payment.

Rush jobs are usually available for an additional 5-15% of the regular cost, depending on how many jobs are ahead of you.

I’m not only locally available but extremely reasonable!

Why hire a gunsmith?

  • My tools - I have over $30,000.00 in specialized tools needed for proper Gunsmithing
  • My time - That actually goes with the next one.
  • My experience - I have over 35 year’s experience working on firearms and am certified by the American Gunsmithing Institute as a “Master Gunsmith.”
  • Your confidence - Whether you are about to pull the trigger on your rifle zeroed in on a paper target, that 14 point buck, or need to protect yourself and your family from a drug-crazed thief, you want to KNOW that firearm will go “bang” when you pull the trigger.  That’s the BIG thing I provide you - confidence!

So I look forward to seeing you soon!

*  A few firearms have receivers that are not actually steel but are an alloy, though they look like it and are magnetic, like post-1964 era Winchester 94’s.  These receivers cannot be “blued.”  Additionally some receivers have a different heat treatment than other parts on the firearm.  That results in a final blue color that will differ between the receiver and those parts..  There is no way to make these parts match by blueing.
